LOCAL TALENT, GLOBAL REACH.
Dan Beacock & The Local Heroes
Dan Beacock is a seasoned Canadian guitarist with over two decades of experience on electric guitar. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Classical Guitar from Wilfrid Laurier University, where his musical journey expanded into diverse genres and collaborations.
While at Laurier, Dan co-founded the indie rock band Will Currie & The Country French, a piano-pop ensemble that gained national attention. The band has toured extensively across Canada and shared stages with acts like Our Lady Peace, Sloan, and Tokyo Police Club. Their discography includes the EP A Great Stage and albums Awake, You Sleepers! and They Killed Us.
Beyond his work with Country French, Dan performs with the Phoenix Jazz Group and several tribute bands honoring legends like Boston, Steely Dan, Mark Knopfler, and Peter Gabriel. He also leads Dan Beacock & The Local Heroes, a project that pays homage to guitar icons such as Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, and the three Kings of blues: B.B., Albert, and Freddie.
Dan’s versatility and passion for guitar continue to resonate through his performances, teaching, and tribute shows, making him a vibrant figure in Canada’s music scene.
For this concert, Dan is joined by Tom Nagy bass, guitars Duncan Chapman McLennan on drums/percussion and Peter Beacock on keys.
And special shout-out to Ben Rollo for curating this season's outstanding Homegrown Series for The Registry Theatre.
